Dear BC Physics Teachers:

We have an exciting opportunity to share with you. Institute of Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, ON is offering an exciting Pro-D opportunity for physics teachers this November:

Quantum for Educators (QEd) 2026

Date: November 20-22, 2026

Applications due: October 1, 2026

Location: In-person in Waterloo, Ontario

Quantum for Educators (QEd) 2026 will be a three-day exploration of quantum science and technology, exploring fundamental concepts like superposition, wave-particle duality, and entanglement as well as applications from atomic clocks and lasers to quantum computers and cryptography. The sessions will focus on accessible, affordable, and hands-on ways to bring quantum science into the classroom. Financial support for travel, accommodations, and substitutes is available for teachers within Canada. Applications are due October 1, 2026. Early acceptances may be granted if needed for approvals, please reach out if this is the case for you. This year, we’ve introduced a session for attendees to present their experiences introducing quantum in the classroom. You can optionally apply to present during QEd as part of your application.
